Digital marketing agencies!
We’ve heard your cry of, “How do I get new clients?” loud and clear. And we’ve come up with an answer.
Presenting… The Instant Audit Tool
This fantastic new tool sends a PDF of the top 5 best, and worst, performing Facebook ads in someone’s account as soon as they opt-into your Instant Audit.
This gives you an easy-to-implement lead magnet that you can set up in about 15 minutes, including creating that button or landing page. It’s the perfect way to find interested potential clients, and prove your value to them.
I’ll demonstrate how this works from the potential client’s point of view. Next, I’ll show you how to set up an Instant Audit and what happens on your end. Then I’ll walk you through how to set up a simple funnel to get new leads for your digital marketing agency.
Your Potential Client’s Point of View
A potential client comes to your website or ends up on your landing page. They click on the button that takes them to your Instant Audit page.
They enter their email address and choose the Facebook ads account they want to have audited from the dropdown menu in the second field.
Then they click the “Email Me My Audit” button.
They’re sent to a Thank You page, where they’re encouraged to schedule a call with you to review the PDF they’ve received and to get a more thorough free Facebook ads audit from you.
(Obviously, this is our version of this page. You’ll use your own words and branding here, but we’ll talk about that in a bit.)
When your potential client opens their email, they’ll get a report that looks like this, except with your agency’s name and logo:
(I used a made-up agency name and logo so you can see what yours might look like.)
**Important: Your potential client must be an admin of the Facebook ads account their requesting the audit for, or this won’t work.** If you have people who contact you, saying they can’t see their Facebook ad accounts on the dropdown, it’s probably because they’re listed as something other than Admin.
That’s how simple this is on your potential client’s end. They get a report on their best and worst performing ads. You get an opportunity to invite them for an in-depth Facebook ads audit so you can impress them with your skills and expertise, then persuade them to hire you to run their Facebook ad campaigns.
See, we heard you.
Here’s how you can make this all happen…
Create and Set Up an Instant Audit on Your End
We have made this as simple as possible for you so you can implement it quickly and easily.
- Log into your FunnelDash account. (Don’t have one? Get a 30-day free trial here.)
- Click on your profile picture at the bottom left corner of the screen.
- Click on “Growth Tools.”
- You’ll see the Instant Audit creation form. Fill out the three fields:
- Audit Name: This can be anything that will remind you of how you’re using the audit, no one will see this but you.
- Agency Name: The name of your agency.
- Thank You Page: The URL of the thank you page you want them to go to after they click on the “Email Me My Audit!” button.
- Upload your agency logo. (This is a required field, so put something there, even if it’s just your picture.)
- Click the “Create Audit” button.
You’ll see a new audit listing come up with a URL. Click on the green button to copy the URL and put it in your web browser to make sure it works.
This GIF is 22 seconds long. That’s how long it took me to set up the audit during the recording. It took me longer to write the instructions above than it will take you to set up an Instant Audit to get new leads for your agency.
For those of you who are wondering why we call this the Facebook Creative Audit, we’re planning on having different types of audits you can offer in the future. We’re starting with the Creative Audit, because it answers the question your potential customers are asking.
Opt into your own Instant Audit. You’ll see that you get 2 copies of your PDF. That’s because every time someone opts into your Instant Audit, we send you a copy of their results so you have it for reference. It acts as a notification, and gives you the same information they have so you can start the conversation off on the right footing.
Once you’ve tested your Instant Audit, go back to your FunnelDash account page and refresh the page. If you click on the audit listing, you’ll see a table below the listing that includes:
- Email address
- Email address they use for their Facebook ads account
- Ad Spend for the last 90 days
Your potential client doesn’t see the ad spend field. We want you to see it so you have some idea of what this person is currently spending and whether they will be a good client for your agency.
You’ll also see a button that allows you to download this table into a CSV file. That way you can import these leads into your ESP or CRM so you can send them an automated follow-up sequence, reminding them to schedule a call with you for a more thorough Facebook ads audit.
To see your new leads, click on the name of your audit.
You will see a popup window with your list of leads. The “Download CSV” button is at the bottom righthand corner of the window.
If you can’t see the popup window, try clearing your browser cache.
Now that you’ve seen how easy it is to create an Instant Audit, it’s time to…
Create Your Audit Funnel
Build an Entry Point
The first thing you’ll need is a way to send people to your Instant Audit. You have a few options, including:
- A button on the home page of your website.
- A dedicated landing page.
- A blog post (like this one).
I would recommend using all three if you can.
For the purposes of this blog post, I’ve created a landing page to use as my example.
As you can see, my landing page announces that potential clients can get a free Facebook Ads Audit. It shows what the audit will look like, and it tells them they will see their top 5 best and worst performing Facebook ads. The button links to the URL for my Instant Audit.
I’ve added FunnelDash branding and copy to this landing page and to the Instant Audit PDF, because, well, we’re FunnelDash. You’ll want to add your own name and branding and messaging to your version, but this page should give you a good template to work from.
If you want to add a Home Page button here are some ideas you can use.
Use a direct headline that grabs your potential clients’ attention, like:
- Want to Know Which of Your Facebook Ads Performs Best?
- See Your 5 Best Performing Facebook Ads Right Now
- See Your 5 Best, and Worst, Performing Facebook Ads with Our Free Audit
Add a sub-headline that explains what you’re offering, like:
- Click on the button below and we’ll send you a free PDF file that shows your top 5 best and worst performing Facebook ads.
- Wondering which of your ads you can bank on and which you should turn off? Click on the button below to find out.
- Let us help you find your top 5 best and worst performing Facebook ads right now.
Include the button with appropriate text, like:
- Find Out Now
- Show Me My Ads
- Send Me My Free Facebook Ads Audit
If you want to write a blog post, well, you’re reading your model.
Give Them the Opportunity to Say, “Yes” to a Full Audit with You
Once they’ve clicked on your first opt-in button and filled out the Instant Audit form, you need to send them to a Thank You page.
Your Thank You page should thank them for requesting their free audit and let them know where to find it (in their email).
It should also include an invitation to schedule a call with you to get a more in-depth Facebook ads audit and link to a scheduling app where they can make an appointment with you at their earliest convenience.
Ours also includes social media share buttons. Because, let’s face it, the best advertising is word of mouth. If you can get people who have opted into your Instant Audit to share it with their social media network, they’re doing your work for you.
Keep in Touch
Set up 2 simple follow-up sequences in your email service provider (ESP) or customer relationship management (CRM) software.
The first one will be for people who have not signed up for a more in-depth Facebook ads audit. It can be very simple and should be about 3-5 emails long (your preference). Each email should persuade them to sign up for an appointment. Include your appointment app link in each email.
The sequence for people who do make an appointment can be 1 or 2 emails long. It will explain what you’re doing between when they signed up and when the two of you will talk. For more information on conducting a Facebook ads audit, check out this blog post.
You want to get them excited for this upcoming appointment. Tell them you’re looking at their data so you can figure out which of their current campaigns will scale best and make them the most money.
Send Traffic to Your Funnel
Now that you have your Instant Audit lead generation funnel set up, there are lots of ways you can get potential leads to opt-in, including:
- Add the landing page link to your email signature.
- Send an email to businesses you want to run Facebook ad campaigns for.
- Promote your landing page in Facebook and LinkedIn groups and Twitter lists associated with your chosen niche.
- Share your landing page link with friends, family, business associates, and anyone who you think would either be interested in your services or would pass your link along.
- Run Facebook ads to your landing page. (That is what you do, after all.)
I’ve just given you everything you need to create the perfect lead-generation funnel for your digital marketing agency, including the ideal lead magnet. Create yours right now in your FunnelDash account and jumpstart your business, using FunnelDash to conduct all those free Facebook ads audit appointments you’re about to get.
